New York City FC will be welcoming Toronto FC to Yankees Stadium this Sunday evening with kick-off set for 3pm and they be hoping that they can maintain the momentum gained with their 3-1 victory last week in Montreal.
Last week David Villa was the hero, his brace proving the difference and this weekend he’ll be joined by former Chelsea, England and Manchester City midfielder Frank Lampard who’ll be making his first appearance for New York since his signing last year.
After the game coach Kreis said, “I’m hopeful we can continue forward with some momentum to know we’ve won four of our last five and only have one loss in the last six. Lots of positives to draw off of.”
Meanwhile Toronto were shut out last weekend by the Galaxy and New York will be hoping that they can duplicate that achievement with a strong defensive performance like last week’s and the addition of yet another former Champions League medal-winner.
As always we’ll have the game live on the Big Screen at 3pm on Sunday.
